Biography


Salvatore Vaccarella, the Italian pianist born in Sicily, made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2018 having been awaeded the Debussy Special Mention at the Ibla Grand Prize International competition. During the IBLA USA Winners Tour he performed also in Virginia, Arkansas, Oklahoma and at the New York University Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò. 

He studied piano at the Istituto Musicale Vincenzo Bellini in Catania, Sicily, graduating with the highest honours. He followed this with a master degree in teaching. He has taken part in many master classes and piano courses to further his musical development; among the most important were his meetings with Vladimir Ashkenazy, Piero Rattalino, Leslie Howard. Actually he continues his musical studies under the guidance of the pianist Eduardo Hubert. 

Winner of several national and international competitions, Salvatore Vaccarella has performed more than hundred solo recitals and chamber duos and has appeared with such important orchestras and chamber ensembles in many important festivals and concert halls in Italy and elsewhere around the world. These include: the Auditorium RAI in Palermo, the Teatro di Marcello in Rome, the San Giacomo Festival in Bologna, Expo 2015 in Milan, the Palazzo Zevallos-Stigliano in Naples, the Palazzo Albrizzi in Venice, Italy; the Salle Cortot, in Paris, France; the Concert Hall of the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, Greece; the Philarmonic Hall in Donetsk, Ukraine; the Sergei Lunchevici National Philarmonic Hall in Chisinau, Moldova; the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, Spain; the Dino Ciani International Festival in Rijeka, Croatia; the Edinburgh Society of Musicians in Edinburgh, Scotland; the Armonia Italiana Festival in Munich, Germany; the International Summer Festival Orpheus in Wien in Vienna, Austria; the Romanian Atheneum in Bucharest, Romania; the Central Music School and the Pyotr Ilyich Tchiaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Russia; the Assumption University of Thailand and the Bangkok International Piano Festival in Bangkok, Thailand; the Conservatory of Music in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam; the IBLA USA Winners Tour and the Samuel Barber International Festival in the USA; and many other prestigious venues, always receiving great critical and audience acclaim. 


He teaches piano at the Music Secondary School Luigi Pirandello in Comiso. He gives Master Class and piano courses in Italy and elsewhere around the world; among the most important are the Piano Master Class at Gnessin State Music College and Academy in Moscow, one of the most prominent Russian music school, at the Assumption University of Thailand in Bangkok and at the Conservatory of Music in Ho Chi Minh.
